The company was originally established in 1998 by local community business leaders in the Eastman-Dodge County Georgia region as “Heart of Georgia Metal Crafters” (HGMC) almost 20 years with a vision of manufacturing advanced precision machined and sheetmetal fabricated components for the aerospace industry. HGMC grew steadily to become a Tier-1 supplier to many defense customers, manufacturing parts on notable programs including the C-5 Galaxy, C-17 Globemaster, F/A-18 Super Hornet, F-15 Eagle, C-130 Hercules, F-16 Fighting Falcon, F-22 Raptor and F-35 JSF.
In 2017, experienced aerospace industry businessman Mr. Kenny Lee acquired HGMC from the original owners and re-branded the company as Kencoa Aerospace LLC, as a subsidiary of Kencoa Group, a global aerospace strategic company with additional locations in California and South Korea. As part of Kencoa Group, Kencoa Aerospace is now able to further advance the vision to achieve even greater opportunities for our employees, community, and most importantly our customers. Kencoa intends to enhance and expand these relationships by further investing in our people, capabilities and capacity – providing even greater added value and extraordinary service for our aerospace customers.
Once strictly a defense products company, Kencoa Aerospace now features robust commercial aerospace and business jet aviation multi-year Long Term Agreement (LTA) contracts supporting multiple platforms for prestigious Aerospace Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) customers including Boeing Commercial Airplanes, Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation, Spirit AeroSystems, Airbus/EADS, and more.
Our current global facilities comprise almost 1,000,000 square feet of available space for further expansion, include capabilities spanning precision machining to complex major structures assembly to Maintenance Repair & Overhaul (MRO) services, and employ over 400 machinists, engineers and support staff.
Recognizing the trend toward consolidation and the demand by aerospace clients for increased vertical integration and best value product delivery, Kencoa Group continues to add production capacity and is actively seeking additional strategic acquisitions.
