JOB TITLE: CNC OPERATOR

Reports To: Machine Shop Lead Classification: Hourly
Department: Machining Department Pay Scale: $12 – $15 /hr JOB SUMMARY


The CNC Operator is a skilled position responsible for operation of CNC machines for the fabrication of detail parts with 1st time quality and delivery. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Load parts and run machine
• Check parts to engineering data and verify product conformity
• Keep track of all parts run and accurately record time/qty in the ERP system
• Notify Lead of any machine malfunctions (maintenance or program related)
• Perform benchtop deburr and blending of parts to customer specifications
• Cooperate / work with teammates from all departments
• Promote a positive attitude toward the Company and its customers
• Be accountable for required assignments; time management; successful completion of assigned work and reports KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• Operate CNC machines from set-up sheets and verbal instructions
• Interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and basic GD&T
• Use measuring equipment to verify part accuracy

JOB TITLE: FABRICATION TECHNICIAN LEVEL 1
Reports To: Production Lead Classification: Hourly
Department: Production Pay Scale: $15 – $18 /hr.

JOB SUMMARY
Level 1 Production Technician is responsible for drilling, countersinking, deburring, forming and basic rivet and nutplate assemblies per customer drawings.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Basic computer knowledge
• Perform daily maintenance on machine and check off maintenance log
• Ability to:
o Interpret drawings
o Mix / apply sealant and touch up paint
o Use measuring equipment such as:
▪ Dial calipers, height gage, depth gages and tape measure
• Hole prep per customer requirements (drilling / countersinking)
• Operating hydroform press
• Familiarity with hand tools such as:
o Drill motor, drill press, rivet squeeze, microstop, etc.
• Good communication / problem-solving skills with other departments
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment
• Be accountable for required assignments, time management, and prioritizing work

EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING:
• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• AST Certificate or equivalent
• Prior work experience in aircraft field a plus

 JOB SUMMARY

The Waterjet Operator is responsible for loading programs, set-up, operation, and basic maintenance of the waterjet machine.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Load programs, set-up and operate machine (basic computer knowledge required)
  • Perform daily maintenance on machine and check off maintenance log
  • Interpret drawings
  • Use measuring equipment such as dial calipers, height gage, and tape measure.
  • Good communication / problem-solving skills
  • Cooperate / work with teammates from all departments
  • Maintain a positive attitude
  • Be accountable for required assignments, time management, and prioritizing work

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Working knowledge of water jet operation

EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING:

  • Prior experience with numerical machine equipment preferred

Department:          PROGRAMMING                  Pay Scale:  $20 – $30 /hr

 JOB SUMMARY

The CNC Programmer is responsible for generating CNC programs, assisting in job setup, program prove out, and assisting in the manufacturing of complex aerospace components and assemblies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Understand process plan including all customer supplied information, both written and digital
  • Responsible for taking product from start to finish including machining, forming, and assembly
  • Design fixtures and tooling for machining centers and assembly
  • Select all standard and custom tooling required
  • Able to read, edit, and optimize Gcode programs for machining efficiency
  • Produce documentation for machine operators to set-up and machine quality parts both safely and efficiently
  • Collaborate with various departments to maintain the flow of products throughout the manufacturing process
  • Able to manage multiple tasks while maintaining focus on safety, quality, and cost        

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Program 3, 4, 5 axis machining centers, 4 axis lathe, waterjet, and router
  • Proficient in using Mastercam for both solid modeling and programming
  • Experience in high speed machining strategies for aluminum, stainless, titanium, and HSRA
  • Ability to communicate technical information to machine operators
  • GD&T and CATIA V5 a plus
  • Working knowledge of sheet metal forming, both hydro-form and press brake.
  • Be accountable for required assignments; time management; successful completion of assigned work and reports.
  • Work well with personnel from other departments, i.e., Manufacturing, Production, Purchasing, etc.
  • Maintain a positive attitude in representation of the Company and its products

EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Machine Tool Technology Diploma or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in CNC machining and operation
  • Experience with 4 & 5 axis milling and multi axis lathes is preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Primary office environment 70%
  • Secondary work in manufacturing environment with some exposure to heat, cold, and noise conditions 30%
